Adoptable Pets - EISENHOWER- ID#A197039

Our Adoptable Pets

I am a neutered male & I look like a Boxer mix

The shelter staff think I am 8 years old.

Hi, I' Eisenhower!! I am 65lbs but when I arrived as a stray just a short time ago, I weighed a lot less and was missing virtually all my hair. I am a really sweet and affectionate boy who spent some time in a foster home (the foster was allergic so I wasn't there but a week). They said that I am reliably housetrained, enjoy going on my walks and said that I was 'majestic!' I am good with other dogs but not so reliable with cats. I was selected to be in the FAMU Farm Program! This is a partnership with the Veterinary Technology Program at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU). Dogs are selected to spend time at the new state-of-the-art Veterinary Technology Teaching Center located at their farm. While residing at the Center, the dogs were cared for by the veterinary technology students and faculty veterinarians, and received any medical and surgical treatment that they needed. This unique partnership helps provide advanced veterinary care to animals that the shelter might not otherwise be able to provide, as well as additional behavioral information about how the animals behave outside of the chaotic shelter environment. While at the Center I was treated for heartworm disease (and I am at the end of my recovery now) so I am all ready to start my life with a new family! While I may be an older gentleman, I am not a rowdy player but I still have a lot more skip in my step than most dogs my age, of course, sleep is a hobby of mine too. If you are a fan of the golden oldies and don't mind my fur still growing in, check me out as I know you'll be enamored with me!

Don't I look like the perfect fit for you and your family? Find out how to adopt me by following the steps listed on the Adoptions page.
