City Commission Appoints New Member
Dr. Elaine Bryant to Fill Seat 1
December 31, 2018
Today, City Commissioners unanimously appointed Dr. Elaine Bryant to fill the Seat 1 vacancy.
Seat 1 was vacated following a suspension from the Governor's Office. Bryant was immediately sworn in and will serve either through the remainder of the seat's term (Nov. 16, 2020) or until such time as the existing Commissioner is able to return to service, whichever occurs first.
The Tallahassee City Commission is a five-member board that serves as the governing body of the City; it sets priorities and rules by which the City is operated, including establishing City goals, as well as setting the City's budget and tax rates.
The City Commission will hold its annual goal-setting retreat on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at the Smith-Williams Service Center, 2295 Pasco Street. The daylong retreat will be streamed live on Talgov.com and Facebook.com/COTNews, as well as broadcast live on WCOT, the City’s government access channel (Comcast Cable and CenturyLink channel 13). The retreat is open to the public.
