City Commission to hold Budget Public Hearing
September 22, 2017
The Tallahassee City Commission will hold its final budget public hearing for the proposed Fiscal Year 2018 (FY18) budget as part of its regular meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 27, in the City Commission Chambers, second floor, City Hall, 300 South Adams Street. The meeting will begin at 4 p.m., and the public hearing begins at 6 p.m.
Overall, the total proposed City budget for FY18, including the General Fund and Enterprise Funds, totals $729.4 million, $28.8 million more than the FY17 budget. This increase reflects forecasts for natural gas used by the power plants and investments in utility and street infrastructure. The proposed FY18 budget is designed to allow the City to continue providing high quality services at an affordable cost while meeting the stated needs of the community, such as public safety and infrastructure improvements.
The meeting agenda can be viewed at http://go.boarddocs.com/fla/talgov/Board.nsf/Public. The meeting is open to the public and will be aired live on WCOT (Comcast and CenturyLink channel 13) and streamed on Talgov.com.
