Retiring Assistant City Manager Raoul Lavin

The City of Tallahassee congratulates Assistant City Manager Raoul Lavin on his retirement after more than 34 years serving his community through state and local government management.  

Raoul Lavin recently retired from the City of Tallahassee.

He served with the City of Tallahassee for more than 29 years, including 16 years as part of its Executive Team. He was instrumental in ensuring the financial viability of an organization with over $3.5 billion in assets, roughly 4,000 employees and combined operating and capital budgets totaling approximately $1 billion.

Throughout his career, Lavin was committed to positively impacting the field of public administration and finance. He worked extensively on international projects, including programs promoting professional local government and ethics in Mexico, sustainability initiatives in China, financial capacity training for Serbian local governments and local government certification training in Puerto Rico. Since 2014, he also has shaped the next generation of leaders as an adjunct faculty member at the Askew School of Public Administration at Florida State University.

With the utmost gratitude, the City of Tallahassee recognizes Raoul Lavin for his decades of dedication and steady leadership.
