As of April 1, 2020, the City of Tallahassee, Leon County, and Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency all adhere to a consolidated Minority & Women Small Business Enterprise (MWSBE) Policy with a commitment to greater business diversity and economic inclusion.

The Office of Economic Vitality’s (OEV) Minority, Women, & Small Business Enterprise (MWSBE) Division is responsible for:

  • Certification of minority and women-owned firms and small businesses with less than 200 employees and $5 million in sales
  • Assigning uniform aspirational goals for competitive solicitations
  • Evaluating responsiveness and scoring the MWSBE portion of competitive solicitations
  • Maintaining records of MWSBE certified businesses
  • Ensuring vendors are trained and ready to do business with the City of Tallahassee and Leon County
  • Communicating City, County, and Blueprint procurement and contracting opportunities to MWSBE certified vendors
