The City of Tallahassee's Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure is a progressive department operating water, wastewater, stormwater and gas utility systems, as well as public works and transportation infrastructure to serve Florida's seventh largest city. Major infrastructure includes a 26 MGD wastewater treatment facility, 102 pump stations, 1,000 miles of sanitary sewers, 493 miles of storm drains, 110 miles of ditches and canals, 1,200 miles of water mains, 650 miles of streets, 8 water towers, and 27 water wells producing 10 billion gallons of finished water annually. We have a skilled and satisfied workforce of 560 employees, with 60 percent of employees working with us for over 10 years and 30 percent for over 20 years.
