New Career Development Program Fills Trade Training Gap
The barriers to exiting poverty can seem insurmountable, which is why the City of Tallahassee has developed a variety of programs to help residents build applicable skills and knowledge that can lead to stable careers. The newest program – Build Up Tallahassee – is an accelerated career development program that will provide 12 weeks of instruction and hands-on learning in a variety of skills related to the construction industry.
“The City of Tallahassee is committed to be a leader in local economic development efforts,” Mayor John Dailey said. “Using our resources in innovative ways, such as the Build Up Tallahassee career development program, we are actively working to address demands for a skilled workforce while also stemming the cycle of poverty.”
Congratulations to the participants on the successful completion of this program. Please check back for information about future opportunities with this program and others.
