The City of Tallahassee’s Externship Program partners with local high schools and offers the opportunity for students to learn more about their local government at work and potential career opportunities that the City provides.
The City has more than 25 departments and opportunities to “extern” including departments such as: Human Resources & Workforce Development; Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Affairs, Aviation, and others.
How to apply?
- All externs must meet the requirements of their school’s externship program.
- All externs interested to extern with the City of Tallahassee must complete the Interest Form by May 31.
- Human Resources and Workforce Development will confirm placement by mid-June.
Once Accepted
- All externs will need to complete a background screening packet
- All externs are required to have their own transportation to and from their work site.
