In April of 2021 as part of a broader affordable housing agenda item, the City Commission directed staff to draft an ordinance that provides a framework for review and approval of development regulation incentives and exemptions for certified affordable housing projects. Staff has now drafted an ordinance that provides incentives for new developments to include affordable housing units within their project and establishes a process for the review of projects that may otherwise be deemed inconsistent with the Tallahassee-Leon County Comprehensive Plan and require City Commission approval.
