The City’s public notice standards for new development applications will change on August 15, 2021. The change relates to the sign that must be posted on the project site. The existing and new sign posting standards are below. The new standards will apply to all applications from both the Growth Management and Planning Departments. The photos provided below show a front, side, and top view of the new and existing signs side by side for comparison.

There are three key changes to the sign standards. First, the sign size increases from 22 by 28 inches to 24 by 36 inches. Second, the new sign is significantly more sturdy. It is very easy to install, but the bigger stakes and the metal frame that wraps around the edge of the entire sign make if more stable. Third, the new sign frames are reusable. In fact, the Growth Management Department will give applicants the option to let us know if they want to keep the sign. If they don’t want to keep it, we will pick it up at the project site at the conclusion of the public notice and make it available for future applicants so the frames won’t have to go to the landfill. We’ve surveyed all local printers and confirmed that there were 6 printers in June 2021 who sell signs that meet the new standards. Growth Management has contacted all printers to advise them of the new standards and to invite them to participate. Please feel free to contact Bill Pable at (850) 891-7044 or at bill.pable@talgov.com if you have any questions.
