City of Tallahassee Housing Division - Lien Payoff Statements or Status of Lien

If you need to request a payoff or status of a City Housing Division lien, please follow these steps:

  1. If you are not the lien holder, request an Authorization of Release of Information from the lien holder. You may use the City's form if you do not have one.
  2. Ensure the lien is a City of Tallahassee Housing Division lien by securing a copy of the lien or notice from the Leon County Clerk's webpage. NOTE: If the City's Your Own Utilities logo is at the top of the lien, please contact Utility Customer Service for a payoff or subordination requirements at 850-891-4968, option 4 then 2; fax inquiry to 850-891-0901; or email to utilitybilling@talgov.com.
  3. Submit a copy of the mortgage/notice and completed authorization form to housing@talgov.com, attention DPA Loan Payoffs. Allow up to 5 business days for processing of payoff requests. Rush requests cannot be guaranteed. Multiple requests for the same property can affect the promptness of our response.

City of Tallahassee Housing Division - Lien Subordination Requirements and Request Form

In certain situations, the City of Tallahassee will allow a subordination of a Down Payment Assistance Loan or Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Loan. Subordinations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. Refinancing to pull cash out for remodeling or debt consolidation, or extension of the loan term are not allowed. If you want to request a subordination review, please follow these steps:

  1. If you are not the lien holder, request an Authorization of Release of Information from the lien holder. You may use the City's form if you do not have one.
  2. Ensure the lien is a City of Tallahassee Housing Division lien by securing a copy of the lien or notice from the Leon County Clerk's webpage.   3. Complete the City's Subordination Request Form and submit it along with the requested documentation, copy of the mortgage or lien, and signed authorization form to housing@talgov.com, attention DPA Loan Payoffs. Allow up to two weeks for processing of a subordination review. Rush requests cannot be guaranteed. Multiple requests for the same property can affect the promptness of our response.
