Tennis Lessons
Private and semi-private lessons are offered at all ten city tennis facilities. We have many different instructors available to help you improve your game, and each instructor is certified by either the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) or the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). Each instructor also charges different rates based on time spent with the student and the number of students being taught. Lesson locations are to be worked out directly between the instructor and students. The rates for each instructor are based on certification level. Purchasing a lesson does not guarantee that lesson. Meet the Pros
Glen Howe
Introducing USPTA Master Professional, Glen Howe. He has been the Tennis Superintendent for the City of Tallahassee for over twelve years. Teaching and training professionally since 1979, tennis is Glen’s Passion.
His playing experience includes the Christopher Newport University varsity tennis team, and he was ranked nationally in the USTA 35’s from 1995-1999. He held a USTA 35s sectional ranking for nine years, and during this time, he was a top 10 interdistrict captain as well as an intersectional captain from 1995-2001.
Glen is presently the Head Tester and an Officer of USPTA Florida Division.
Among his personal accomplishments, Glen has been married to Cheri for 41 years. They have three children (Scott, Kristen, and Glynda) and seven grandchildren.
“I enjoy all aspects of the game, but my most satisfying aspect of the profession is increasing the size of a facility. I also enjoy taking care of customers and giving them my best every day. My expertise includes the following areas: training professionals, facility ownership, directing programs, working with advanced players, managing large staffs at facilities, and pro shop operations.”

Steve LeRoy
Steve started playing tennis at the age of 18 at 3.0 NTRP level. He achieved 5.0 level status in 2008. He specializes in teaching stroke production (topspin, backspin, kick serves, etc.) He teaches all levels and ages and enjoys teaching singles and doubles strategy. He is an USPTA Elite professional.

Lenin Mongerie
Lenin comes to ours from St. John U.S Virgin Islands. He is an Elite Professional with USPTA. He has been teaching tennis for over 20 years!
He attended Florida A & M University on a tennis scholarship and was a member of the U.S Virgin Islands tennis Davis Cup team and World University Games.
After 17 years of working for the City of Tallahassee as a tennis instructor he has taught every level of the game. He is a certified pickleball instructor and has played the game at the highest level. He is ready for you to take your game to the next level. Lastly he was just promoted to Tennis Operation Supervisor.

Jerry Peacock
Jerry graduated from Florida State University and is an Elite Professional with the USPTA. He has been teaching tennis for the City of Tallahassee for over 11 years. In addition to private lessons Jerry especially likes teaching tennis clinics and playing competitively. Eunice Rho
Eunice began playing tennis at 8 years old and has over 12 years of teaching experience. She played competitive juniors and has participated in adult leagues that have advanced to the national level. She is USPTR and USPTA certified. She has taught all ages but currently enjoys teaching children in middle school.
