A.J. Henry Park

This 72-acre tract of parkland is centrally located amidst seven surrounding neighborhoods in the Killearn area in the Northeast quadrant of the City, and was developed as an active and passive park.

In March of 1985, the City acquired a 72+-acre tract of parkland in the northeast quadrant of the City. The City received a Land and Water Conservation Grant, through the State Department of Natural Resources, to match with City funds and a contribution from the donor in the acquisition effort.

The park was named A. J. Henry in memory of the property owner, Dr. Joe Henry. The City developed the first phase of A. J. Henry Park with some funding from the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program in 1986. This stage included picnic facilities, a playground and open playing space, nature and walking trails.

Site improvements include four (4) picnic shelters, a large picnic pavilion, a comfort station, nature and hiking trails, and parking areas.
