Pensacola Street Underground Utility Project
As part of its commitment to ensuring reliable service, the City of Tallahassee is planning a utility improvement project along a portion of Pensacola Street. The project includes the replacement of existing water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.
The project limits, which are shown on the map, run from Lorene Street to South Macomb Street.
During construction, travel lanes will need to be closed within the work zone, but one lane will remain open. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Construction will be phased to minimize traffic impacts.
After the utility construction is complete, the roadway will be resurfaced, and the curbs, sidewalks and other surfaces disturbed by construction activities will be restored to existing or better condition.
This project represents the significant investment by the City toward maintaining and improving our infrastructure system. We anticipate construction beginning after the last home football games for FSU and FAMU in fall 2021. Construction is anticipated to take 6-8 months to complete. Check back for project updates.
