Report Animal Cruelty
Tallahassee is a pet-friendly community with plenty of owners who take pride in caring for their pets. Unfortunately, animal cruelty still exists. Abuse and neglect toward animals often leads to further acts of violence and other crimes. We need your help to ensure that all animals in this community receive the care they need.
If you think someone is mistreating animals, please speak up. Report concerns of neglect or cruelty, such as improper tethering, untreated injury or abandonment, to Animal Control at 850-891-2958. Your voice could be what saves them from a life of suffering, or worse.
Animal Abuser Registry
On April 26, 2017, the City Commission took a hard stance on animal abuse by enacting Section 4-13 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Tallahassee. This resulted in the creation of an animal abuser registry that contains information on persons convicted of certain felony and misdemeanor animal abuse offenses.
The registry shown below is intended to increase public awareness of animal crimes, allows entities and individuals offering animals for adoption or purchase to identify offenders, and serves to protect the welfare of citizens and animals within our community.
